Over the course of the last 20 years, we have seen many organizations strive to build a high-trust environment. We know this is one of the critical assets that attracts and retains great people. But, what exactly is a high-trust environment? Here is a short description that we compiled back in the 90s as we educated the field management team at Rational Software Corporation. High-trust environment

Over the last two decades, I have led several workshops where the discussion centered on improving team collaboration and the establishment of a high trust environment. This is a nice aspiration, but not a well-defined term. And, it would materialize into many forms depending on context. Nevertheless, there were some recurring principles that emerged from these discussions. Here is a synthesis of the signal that came out of all the noise in those workshops. (more…)
