Base 2 birthday milestones

Today is my one-year old grandson’s birthday party. He turned one a few days ago but today is party day. This got me thinking about important birthday milestones.¬† You know the problem…Aunt Marilyn is turning 50 and you are writing in her birthday card. What the heck do you say? Turning one is certainly a big birthday. This is roughly the time that most kids transition from crawling to walking and most parents transition to a new stage of constant scrutiny and fear of the little toddler’s desire to explore. This got me thinking about the birthdays that should be considered true milestones. Most of us think the base ten milestones are the big ones.
